Mallow Credit Union Ltd. is now inviting applications for the following positions:

2 x Teller/Admin. Assistant: 9 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Leave Cover)

Principle responsibilities and accountabilities of the role:

The position of teller/administrative assistant will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for carrying out a range of teller and administrative activities that contribute to the effective running of Mallow Credit Union.  The Teller will be the first point of contact for the members and will provide members with a professional, friendly and efficient service in line with Mallow Credit Union policies and procedures. The working week is 35 hours/5 days per week including Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for the efficient and accurate performance of teller functions
  • Represent the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ensure that cash levels are kept to the appropriate level during opening hours
  • Processing members’ transactions in an accurate, confidential and timely manner
  • Disburse cash or share withdrawals
  • Verify transactions and all associated paperwork presented at time of transaction
  • Ensure compliance with Customer Due Diligence and update when possible
  • Balancing cash at the end of the day.  Investigate and resolve any cash differences promptly
  • Comply with all policies and procedures of the Credit Union, including Anti-Money Laundering and report any suspicious transactions
  • Present all Credit Union services and products to members and assist in meeting all their financial needs
  • Actively participate in Training and provide support where needed
  • General Office duties: filing, photocopying, scanning, etc. as required
  • Undertake other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed by the Operations Manager

 

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Cash handling and balancing experience is a distinct advantage
