Role Summary:

Reporting to the CFO, the IT Manager will have specific responsibility for the area of Management, Planning and Control of the Information Technology systems in Mallow Credit Union.  They are required to co-ordinate the maintenance of the IT network ensuring all hardware and software are maintained and secured to a high commercial standard. There is also responsibility for managing third party vendors and implementing, communicating, and maintaining IT policies and procedures to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of IT, including banking system, branch connectivity, remote access, phone system, CCTV, Health and Safety, HR systems and alarm/CCTV/physical access systems.
  • Supervise and project manage IT maintenance and IT development & improvements, including change management and all IT projects.
  • Manage and co-ordinate all 3rd party supplier relationships and monitor performance against agreed service levels.
  • Review and update IT policies and procedures and oversight of IT controls.
  • Management of the credit union Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans, including testing of same.
  • Ensure security of systems, data, network access and backup systems.
  • IT incident management oversight and response management.
  • Identify problem areas and implement solutions and provide support to the Senior Management Team (SMT) on all issues relating to IT.
  • Identify risks on our Network / Systems and work with the Risk Management Officer (RMO) to manage same.
  • Manage, devise and implement plans for IT and cyber security training for employees and volunteers.
  • To liaise with the RMO & SMT in the development and/or implementation of new technology or services.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as may be directed by the CEO, CFO and/or the Board of Directors.
  • Engage with the Central Bank of Ireland on PRISM and other regulatory requirements.
  • To be the point of contact for CU personnel when IT issues are being experienced.
  • Work with the SMT and the Board to set the sustainability strategy and design sustainability programme/initiatives to deliver the required results.
  • Develop a best in class IT infrastructure with a focus on constant improvement and satisfies the requirements of working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Contribute to the forecasting and budgeting processes in conjunction with the Finance department to ensure that IT requirements, including projects, are appropriately costed and budgeted.
  • Ownership and development of Digital Operational Resilience (DORA) and demonstrate a scenario testing ability in supporting services provided within a financial services business.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties as the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the Credit Union.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience within financial services in a similar role is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in IT and/or business is essential.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral, together with strong analytical skills.
  • Understanding of the general and technical aspects of the role including system applications.
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and support skills. Ability to prioritise issues and escalate accordingly.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • A problem solver with a passion for delivering on results and providing solutions.
  • Experience with cyber security SIEM/SOC and cyber response solutions would be an advantage.
  • Experience with credit union software platforms also desirable.
